ColorArch 1.0

Publisher Description

ColorArch (© Universitat Politècnica de València) helps you choosing colour combinations using the criteria of a renowned architect, having been implemented so far the module corresponding to Le corbusier. The application facilitates accurate color notation in Natural Colour System (NCS), to help architects, designers and end users.
When the application is opened, the user may select from a drop-down list any of the 43 colors in Salubra 1931. Le Corbusier proposed combinations of 3 or 4 colours arranged in 13 color charts called "color pianos" with their own name: wall, landscape, sky, sand, etc.
When selecting a colour, all its combinations appear sorted by recurrence, being the first those colour combinations preferred by Le Corbusier. A text displays the name of the colour in the original Salubra notation and NCS.
The colours and their combinations can be navigated in the three-dimensional space NCS, in which each color is described by three variables: hue, blackness and chromaticness. Moving the 3D model is possible to evaluate the combination criteria preferred by Le Corbusier. Previous research about the "colour combination criteria in Le Corbusier's Purist architecture based on Salubra claviers from 1931", has been published in Colour Research and Application (© 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
